Freestyle Business Semester Project
Check Point 1 - Business Plan (20 points)
What business are you going to create?
Share the business plan with your classmates to gather feedback. This intro will be done through a media based commercial.
Check Point 2 - Design (80 points)
What product(s) do you make/sell?
You will show me any products that have been designed. You will continue to design products using SolidWorks, Inventor, and/or AutoCad.
You must consider how your product impacts our environment and address this impact in your research.
You will be keeping a technical notebook to follow the development of your project. A daily journal will be completed for the purpose of product development.
Check Point 3 (20 Points)
How do you produce the product(s)?
You must consider how your product impacts our environment and address this impact in your research.
Consumers are highly interested in how “green” items are today. How will your product fit this criterion? Will your product be made out of renewable or recycled materials?
Research and develop a production plan. This will illustrate how you plan to produce the product(s) you will be selling. You should be finalizing the product(s) you have chosen to sell.
Check Point 4 (20 Points)
How do you distribute the product(s)? Will this be a web based company with customer orders or will you have a store for purchases?
Check Point 5 (20 Points)
How many employees will be required to run the business? Based on your research, how many people will be required to complete your process?
Check Point 6 (20 Points)
How will your business generate funds for supplies, payroll and other expenses? Will you use outside investors or will your funds be generated from product profit?
Check Point 7 (20 Points)
How will you market your product(s)? Will you have a spokesperson or expert on your product to speak on your behalf? Will you use media or other advertisement resources to create the interest needed for higher sales?
Tips for Success:
-Include product margins and comparisons to like/similar products.
-Include graphs, visuals, and web links to enhance your product and presentation.
-Stay on track with the check points and do not fall behind.
-Think about products that you use every day that need to be improved or changed completely.
-Think about this from the stand point that you will be the CEO of this company or the developer of this product and the sales generated will be your sole source of income.
-All checkpoints must have a written component/explanation.
